Driver form

Configuration Gate Drivers Drivers view Driver form

The Driver form enables you to add and edit truck driver information. Use this form to enter driver ID and status information, and to associate trucking companies with the selected driver.

If you allow drivers that do not already exist in the system to drop-off containers, you can include the CreateNewDriver (on page 1) business task in your gate configuration. If the business task is included in the gate configuration, N4 uses the driver information entered at the gate to create a new driver record. For more information on business tasks, see Business Tasks form (on page 1).

To add or edit a driver:

  1. In the Driver Name field, enter the driver's name.

  1. Enter any optional information such as the driver card, driver license number, and driver license state.

  2. Click Save.

You must save a driver record before you can associate a trucking company with the driver.

The following table lists the optional fields in the Driver form:

Field Label

Description

Driver Status

Select the driver's status:

  • BANNED: Driver is not allowed into the facility

  • RECEIVE ONLY: Driver can receive equipment from the facility but cannot deliver any equipment

  • OK: Driver can receive and deliver equipment at the facility

If you do not select a value for Driver Status, N4 assumes the driver status as OK.

Driver Suspended Date

Enter the date the driver's right to visit the facility is suspended.

If a date is entered, it indicates that the driver is suspended from the facility as of that date, regardless of the value in the Driver Status field.

Driver Card Id

Enter the card ID of the driver of the truck visit.

A driver card is an identification, other than a drivers license, that uniquely identifies a driver such as a Sealink or TWIC card.

Card Expiration

Enter the date the driver card expires.

Include the RejectDriverCardExpired business task to reject a gate transaction if the current date is past the driver card expiration date.

If the RejectDriverCardExpired business task is included in the gate configuration but the Card Expiration date is not specified for the driver, N4 does not reject the gate transaction.

Driver License

Enter the driver's license number.

Driver License State

Enter the state that issued the driver's license.

Callup ID

Enter the callup ID assigned to the driver by the facility.

Usually, the truck is assigned a permanent ID by the facility but sometimes the driver may be assigned a permanent ID that is used to display information on the callup boards.

Driver Birth Date

Enter the driver's birth date.

Driver Email Address

Enter the driver's email address.

N4 validates the email address format and accepts only the email addresses that are entered in the '[email protected]' format (for example: [email protected]). N4 does not accept an email address that:

  • Contains more than one '@' symbols.

  • Has a Domain name shorter than two characters (for example: [email protected]).

N4 allows you to use an apostrophe anywhere in the recipient's name in an email address, such as O'[email protected].

Hazard License

Enter the driver's hazard license.

Enter the date the driver's right to visit the facility is suspended.

If a date is entered, it indicates that the driver is suspended from the facility as of that date, regardless of the value in the Driver Status field.
